As a lifelong Elvis Presley fan, I was always on the lookout for rare and unique items to add to my collection. So when I heard about an estate sale featuring a collection of old records, I knew I had to check it out.
Upon arriving at the sale, I was immediately drawn to a stack of 45 RPM records, drawn to this strange record sleeve with a cartoon cover featuring Elvis. I had never seen anything like it before and couldn’t wait to take a closer look. I came across one particular record that caught my eye: “My Baby Left Me” by Arthur Crudup. The cover featured a cartoon Elvis with a heartbroken expression, with the words “This Is His Life” written on it.
I was intrigued by this rare and unusual promo record, and after doing a quick online search, I realized it was highly sought after by Elvis collectors. Despite this, the estate sale was selling it for a mere $1.
Without hesitation, I snatched up the record and headed to the cashier to pay for it. As I left the estate sale with my new treasure in hand, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement and accomplishment.
Since then, the “My Baby Left Me” promo record has become one of the crown jewels of my Elvis collection. Its unique and eye-catching cover make it stand out among my other records, and I often get asked about its history and rarity by other collectors.
Finding this rare Elvis RCA 45 promo record at an estate sale for just $1 was truly a stroke of luck. It’s a treasure that I will always cherish and hold dear as a fan of the King of Rock and Roll.
